Ventilation Requirement
If remodeling a space for a salon, applicants need a building permit that includes minimum exhaust ventilation rates for chemical fumes. This is a common surprise at plan review stage. Ask your city’s Building Department about ventilation requirements before your architect begins drawing plans.
