Access To Capital

In addition to traditional commercial banks, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) provide an important source of capital for local small businesses — especially those that may not yet qualify for conventional financing. Unlike traditional banks, CDFIs are mission-driven lenders whose primary goal is economic opportunity, not profit. They are more likely to work with businesses that have limited credit history, are in early stages of growth, or are owned by entrepreneurs from communities that have historically had less access to capital. The lenders below are based right here in Stanislaus County or have a dedicated local presence, and together they offer a wide range of loan products — from small microloans to SBA-backed real estate financing.

Unsure Where to Begin?

A free advisor from the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) can guide you through your options and help you determine which path best aligns with your business goals. The Sierra Valley SBDC also offers a dedicated Loan Readiness Program designed to support businesses through every step of the financing process, including loan packaging assistance, individualized advising, and direct connections to trusted lenders. With this support, you can move forward confidently and choose the financial solution that best fits your business’s needs.
